Northwest Housing Development makes it easier for families with low income, good credit and no down payment to own a home by developing property to build on, assisting you in making an application to a lender for a 100% financed self-help building loan, providing house plans (for modest, energy efficient homes), helping you manage construction bill paying, providing construction supervision throughout all phases of construction and providing periodic inspections right through your final inspection and approval to move-in.

Qualifying For Your Loan
If you have good credit and your income is less than 80% of the median income your dream of home ownership may come true sooner than you thought possible. Your Group Coordinator will review the eligibility requirements and talk with you to help you determine if this program is right for your household. House Construction
Six to ten households join together to form a building co-op. The households work together to build one another's homes, as a group. Groups get step-by-step technical training and on-going construction supervision to make it simple to build modest, affordable homes. Even if you've never used tools before you'll learn how to do carpentry, masonry, painting, landscaping and more. Your construction supervisor will help you choose and schedule subcontractors.
